Bluepeace has been working in the Maldives since 1989. The core of their philosophy is "ensure that the natural environment is used wisely and continues to be available for the benefit and enjoyment of future generations"

To this end they work to protect the Maldives delicate oceanic environment. Working only with freely given time, donations and subscriptions Bluepeace has several ongoing campaigns.

Save the Groupers.

The fish Groupers are a vital part of the ecosystem of a reef, they are also a large part of the diet of the Maldives people. Bluepeace works with local people to educate them in sustainable fishing and managing fish stocks.

Marine Turtle Campaign.

Turtles are one of the most iconic sea creatures. Protecting nesting sites is an important part of ensuring the survival of these beautiful creatures. Bluepeace works on education and the creation of sanctuaries.
