Salta Holidays

Salta is located in northwestern Argentina and is one of the country’s most popular areas. It’s come a long way since it was founded in 1582, but much of the colonial architecture has been preserved. There are tons of interesting museums and pleasant cafes. Salta has elements of a busy city, but has a pace comparable to a small town.

If you’re peckish and looking for a hidden gem, go straight to El Buen Gusto Empanadas. This traditional restaurant offers some of the best empanadas in Salta. It’s worth making a call in advance to ensure you don’t miss out on this tasty treat. They only cook a limited batch!

If you fancy embarking on a tour from Salta, a 4x4 Flamingo watching adventure is a fun-filled option. With pickups available from most Salta hotels, this is a great way to set your eyes on rare Andean flamingos. You’ll be able to spot them from a distance with their signature yellow legs. Explore the Andes Mountains and go along the Bull Gorge. It’s a ride you won’t forget!

Place an enquiry today and our travel experts will be in touch with more information on Argentina’s flamingos, empanadas and museums.

Train to the Clouds

In Salta, a train ride like no other awaits. Head straight for the clouds in a smooth fashion as you slowly ascend. Through the window you’ll see all of northern Argentina’s vast and magnificent landscapes. The last stop is the Polvorilla Viaduct, which is 4,200 metres above sea level- hence the train journey’s nickname. By the end of your train ride, you will have conquered 29 bridges, 13 viaducts, 21 tunnels and 2 zig-zag movements.

The seating area is comfortable and pleasant. The seats are arranged to encourage passenger engagement and there is also a scheduled break at Polvorila Viaduct. The 40-minute stop gives you chance to take photos and purchase a souvenir. It’s also an opportunity to stretch your legs and get some fresh air.

Place an enquiry today and let your Salta adventures begin.
