Train to the Clouds

In Salta, a train ride like no other awaits. Head straight for the clouds in a smooth fashion as you slowly ascend. Through the window you’ll see all of northern Argentina’s vast and magnificent landscapes. The last stop is the Polvorilla Viaduct, which is 4,200 metres above sea level- hence the train journey’s nickname. By the end of your train ride, you will have conquered 29 bridges, 13 viaducts, 21 tunnels and 2 zig-zag movements.

The seating area is comfortable and pleasant. The seats are arranged to encourage passenger engagement and there is also a scheduled break at Polvorila Viaduct. The 40-minute stop gives you chance to take photos and purchase a souvenir. It’s also an opportunity to stretch your legs and get some fresh air.
