“Thanking you for organising a wonderful holiday for us in Sri Lanka and Maldives. The hotels booked for first week of tour was beyond our expectations all the hotels were 5 stars ranked. Only downside two hotels where we stayed one night would have better if we stayed 2 nights, small point. The trip to Maldives was just magical and out of the world holiday , will never forget this place. Only criticism I would point out the Last hotel in Cinnamon Bay Beruwala was not to the standard of the first weeks hotels, Bearley 3 stars. The hotel was dirty, bedding all smelling, corridors all way wet and slippery, pool side under construction and the beach was dirty and brown sludge like films on the water. One day we were waking on the beach, found a condom floating on the water, very unpleasant experience. The general decor looked dull and unfinished, the general oppearance was that hotel built in multi story car par with concrete finish. We looking to see if we can get any compensation for the Last week of our stay at Beruwala . My companion are much of the same opinion. Our experience was dampened here. “Please see above. We chose not to go to the elephant orphanage and guide also advised that some tourists have complained about the chaining and cruelty to the elephants. We chose a safari instead and saw elephants in their natural environment of the jungle/reserve. Buddhist Temples were stunning. ”

“Country was beautiful and hotels were for most part excellent. The main issue was in relation to driver. Who are insistent on bringing you to certain shops and places to eat where prices are ridiculously high (not just normal tourist mark up) but well in excess of prices at home. One example is being brought to lunch at a place that was extremely poor and then been charge in $35 for the privelege. It would appear that tour operator is to some extent complicit to this rip off as driver insisted on two particular stops where prices for tea was $24 for a small packet. This is experience would likely stop me recommending a holiday with Kuoni as operator.”

“Quiet where we were staying, not much happening. Its advisable to do a train journey into Colombo and experience Sri lankan culture in the city. Any excusions you consider you must consider the time it takes to travel. We decided against any as it was far too long a journey.”

Also, the food was disappointing - everything was a buffet, and this meant that service was impersonal and meals were instantly forgettable.”

“Sri Lanka is a busy place. Areas that you will want to visit are a good few hours drive away, it is highly recommended you stay overnight to break your excursions. Kuoni had an outstanding rep who provided some of the best customer service I have experienced. However we found the general Sri Lankan attitude / ability of customer srevice a little tiring at times. I feel this would be a better location for a travelling / backpacking holiday rather than Honeymoon.”
