"Country was beautiful and hotels were for most part excellent. The main issue was in relation to driver. Who are insistent on bringing you to certain shops and places to eat where prices are ridiculously high (not just normal tourist mark up) but well in excess of prices at home. One example is being brought to lunch at a place that was extremely poor and then been charge in $35 for the privelege. It would appear that tour operator is to some extent complicit to this rip off as driver insisted on two particular stops where prices for tea was $24 for a small packet. This is experience would likely stop me recommending a holiday with Kuoni as operator." rating 5/10, 4th Jan 2012, Philip A

"Quiet where we were staying, not much happening. Its advisable to do a train journey into Colombo and experience Sri lankan culture in the city. "It was beautiful in places, but as soon as we got there, it became apparent that we were limited with our movements. We were constantly hassled by locals trying to sell us things. "Loved the Hotels I stye in - did Panorama Tour - The Beach at Negombo was fantastic as was lighthouse. Buit the tour was v earl starts and often very tiring. Got to see so much of the country. "Sri Lanka is a busy place. Areas that you will want to visit are a good few hours drive away, it is highly recommended you stay overnight to break your excursions. Kuoni had an outstanding rep who provided some of the best customer service I have experienced. However we found the general Sri Lankan attitude / ability of customer srevice a little tiring at times. "Disappointed that couldn't really explore beaches without constantly being pestered by 'beach boys' who were always waiting at hotel perimeter fence.
