"Love St Lucia - one of the two beach sellers (Charlie) was a nightmare though and took a dislike to me and two other female guests at the Halcyon. The hotel manager, Mr Dupal, really tried to help sort his behaviour out though for us." rating 10/10, 1st Sep 2009, Jane L
"The poor old St Lucian By Rex - attitude of staff is appalling - no can do - is the standard response to any simple request - plumbing a disaster! ground floor bathroom drains from the bathtub do not work properly and you end up standing in 9 inches of waste water when having a shower - general maintenance of the hotel is shabby. I don't quite know what has happend since I was at the Rex in December but it was a pretty poor show by comparison. We asked for a cot for the baby and housekeeping did not bother to change the sheets in it until specifically asked to do so (despite the fact that the sheets were obviously dirty). Only one very small bar of soap was issued to the bathroom and when another was asked for it was initially refused!. I really don't mind paying for a bar of soap! "Don't trust the Hotels tour/trip organisers. They are not part of the hotel and have no other vested interest in you other than your money.
