Room 9.0 / 10 Intercontinental Moorea. Really lovely relaxed little place. Beautifully set, accomodation really nice (we had a beach bungalow and I preferred those to the overwater ones in that resort, purely because of the lovely beach and the pleasant gardens.) Spotlessly clean, excellent, unobtrusive housekeeping. Nice staff, food was good, albeit not very varied. Close to other places to eat (we liked Bloody Mary's.) The resort was small, friendly, quiet and not at all "resorty" feeling. A really pleasant atmosphere (actually a nicer atmosphere than the more upmarket Thalasso we visited next, in my opinion.) Would highly recommend for a romantic getaway - I think 80% of the people there were on honeymoon! Could not have been any nicer.

Room 10.0 / 10 Intercontinental Thalasso. Amazing accomodation - huge overwater villa with an absolutely stunning, uninterrupted view over the lagoon - really could not have been any nicer. Lovely setting on the motu with stunning views over the main island. As you are not on the mainland here, you are more confined to the resort - you would need to take a boat to the mainland to access restaurants etc. Despite this being a 5*, there was an air of slight disorganisation - food was often given to us at different times when eating as a couple, or just the wrong thing, or undercooked (we got given raw chicken once, ouch.) Sounds a bit churlish to complain and it really was just little things, but if you're going to charge that much you need to be on the ball with everything. We still had a lovely time and it was an amazing holiday.
