Things To Do

Bangkok began as a small trading centre, but is now a city that is up to speed with modern times, however the grandeur and glory of its illustrious past still prevails. Bangkok has so many colourful and intriguing stories to tell that will amaze you.

One place to start is with Bangkok’s Chinatown, as its one of the most popular tourists attractions in the city. It is also a food haven for new generation food lovers. The 1km strip is always busy and vibrant, with market stalls, street-side restaurants and gold shops. Chinatown is definitely an experience not to miss.

Wat Pho, the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, is located behind the splendid Temple of the Emerald Buddha. This is a sight not to be missed! The Temple is the largest in Bangkok and famed for its huge and majestic reclining Buddha, which measures measured 46 metres long and covered in gold leaf. Furthermore the Buddha's feet are 3 metres long and exquisitely decorated in mother-of-pearl.

If there is one must-see sight that no visit to Bangkok would be complete without, it's the dazzling, spectacular Grand Palace, which undoubtedly is the city's most famous landmark. The Grand Palace commands respect from all who have walked in their sacred grounds. It was built in 1782 and for 150 years was the home of Thai Kings and the Royal court. The Grand Palace continues to have visitors in awe with its beautiful architecture and detail.

Wat Arun known locally as Wat Chaeng is a breath taking temple, and its towering spires are one of the most recognised in Southeast Asia. Constructed during the first half of the 19th century, in the ancient Khmer style, the temple symbolises the birth of the Rattanakosin Period and the founding of the new capital after Ayutthaya fell. The beauty and history of this temple will have you speechless, so it is definitely worth seeing.
