Chapwani in Zanzibar is a private island located just off the coast to the North West of Stone Town.
You can reach the island within just 15 minutes from Stone Town by one of the island's own boats. The island itself is stunning as it is a coral island. it is only 1km long and 100 metres wide and so it is the perfect setting for complete privacy.
It is great fun to explore the surrounding area with its delightful coves, sandy bays and crystal blue waters. It is the ideal spot for snorkelling, windsurfing and diving.
The whole island has just 10 rooms and so there is no competition for the prime spot on the beach! All of the rooms have their own terrace which open out on to their own area of beach with private lounge beds. The rooms are tastefully furnished with a four poster bed and a traditional Zanzibari writing desk.
The restaurant on Chapwani is right by the water and has a large traditional Makuti roof. The food is fantastic with strong local influences, fresh produce and local ingredients. You will find that your choice of food belongs to the locals and what they have harvested or caught that day. It will be the freshest food you have ever tasted.
