Thailand no weather worries

Thailand’s weather can be summed up as hot and humid followed by more hot and humid, with the occasional warm downpour. It is tropical weather – or, more accurately, climate – with high temperatures and dominated by monsoons.
April and May are the hottest months of the year - even testing for the locals at times – while June sees the beginning of the rainy season that continues intermittently until the end of October. Then begins the most obviously appealing part of the year for the overseas visitor, from November to the end of February, with a cooling north-east breeze and lower humidity.

The north and north-east are generally cooler than Bangkok in winter and hotter in summer. In the far north, around Mae Hong Son temperatures can occasionally drop as low as 20C – so a breadth of weather conditions, depending on the season and location.

The good thing about Thailand’s predictable weather patterns is that, for the visitor, there is no need to bring much clothing as almost everything can be purchased locally at a fraction of the price of buying them at home. Of course, the tropical sun can be fierce, so a hat is a very good idea, as well as effective sun cream.
