Location

Situated on the northern coast between Grand Bay and the capital Port Louis, the hotel is named after the fisherman’s village in which it nestles and has acquired a reputation bordering on mythical when it comes to hospitality benchmarks. It combines the ideal romantic hideaway with a picture-perfect, two-kilometre powder white beach, a blue lagoon that stretches as far as the eye can see, a 100-acre garden and magnificent sunsets. In short, it delivers the promise of a haven and an authentic Mauritian village.

Rooms

Accommodation is chalet-style, carefully distributed through the tropical gardens. All rooms face the sea. There is a pool, bar and two restaurants providing all kinds of ambience, from a buffet to a candle-lit dinner – all overlooking the Indian Ocean. The beach slopes gently to a calm sea and the emphasis is most definitely on relaxation. Even the golf course wends its way between coconut trees, bananas trees and bougainvilleas.

There are 130 standard rooms, 10 family apartments and three two-level suites, all with air-conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, beach towels and a host of facilities. The style is Mauritian tiled or thatched which blend into the gardens. In the suites, downstairs there is a kitchenette, sitting\dining area, and a large private terrace for alfresco dining. Upstairs is a magnificent en-suite bedroom and large balcony with excellent views and each suite is assigned a valet.

Beyond the hotel itself, there are several excellent cafes and restaurants, where everything from fresh French baguettes to the best wines is available - all within easy walking distance.
