There are street acts, amazing fish restaurants and the chance to meet some of San Francisco''s famous sea lions. They have made the old piers their home and their antics will keep you entertained while you wait for the ferry to Alcatraz island. Use the bridge as the start of your adventure as you visit the stunning Redwood forest in Muir Woods. Adventure further into Marin County where you can go up Mount Tam and see the many woodland trails where mountain biking was invented.

Kite boarding is the latest craze and assuming you survive you can relax with the famous West Coast drive. Head off down the Big Sur, over a hundred miles of stunning craggy Pacific coastline to Hearst Castle. From there you can journey inland into the desert and the Grand Canyon. On the way don''t miss Yosemite National Park with its towering granite dome scenery.
