Ideally you need a large variety of different slopes in the same area. This allows members of the group to ski on different slopes but to meet up for lunch and ski down to the resort together at the end of the day.
It is also wise to choose a resort that has a large ski school. The larger the ski school the more levels that they will have and the more likely it is that they will have a class that fits all the different standards in your group.
