Our recommended two week independent touring holiday to Chile visits all of the main highlights of this beautiful country.
Strange as it may seem, your holiday to Chile begins in Argentina! You will be based for 2 nights in Bariloche from where you will explore the seven scenic lakes of Correntoso, Espejo, Escondido, Falkner, Villarino, Bayley Wills and Machonico on a full day excursion.
On day 3 a further four lakes are crossed as you travel into Chile and the small scenic village of Puerto Varas.
From here the journey heads south to Patagonia and the magnificient natural countryside of the Punta Arenas region. Staying in Puerto Natales for 3 nights provides ample opportunity to discover the glorious Torres del Paine National Park. We include a full days tour of the park on day 5.
Day 7 will see you flying upto Santiago from where you can visit the surrounding vineyards. We provide you with a private half day historical tour of Santiago the origins of which date back to the 16th century, as well as a full day excursion to Vina del Mar and the World Heritage city of Valparaiso.
Early on day 10 you fly to Calama, the gateway to the Atacama Desert. Your base for the next 4 action packed days is San Pedro de Atacama. A half day tour of this small town is included on the afternoon of your arrival.
Over the next 3 days visit sites such as the Tatio Geysers, the Valle de las Lunas and the imposing Licancabur volcanoe, the Chaxa lagoon and the Luguna Verde situated over the Bolivian border.
