The Dominican Republic is a superb Caribbean destination with all manner of Watersports including Scuba diving, sailing, kitesurfing and snorkelling available. Our Dominican Republic travel advice would be to ensure that you take full advantage of the great things to do and compliment an inland tour with a catamaran excursion as the Caribbean waters are teaming with marine life and the coastal regions are simply stunning.
It is recommended to get a Typhoid & Hepatitis A jab before you travel and your family doctor can offer the latest advice. You can book your holiday well in advance to ensure that the very best resorts are available but bargain hunters can still make a late booking or travel outside of the peak season.
The winter months of December through to April offer the best weather with long sunny days and clear blue waters for Watersports enthusiasts. Travelling outside of these times is possible but the weather can be extremely hot or coincide with the hurricane season.
