Diving in the Maldives

The Maldives are an island nation made up of over 1000 islands of which 200 are inhabited. With there being more sea than land, water sports are obviously a great activity when visiting this region. With crystal clear water all year round and some of the world’s best coral reef areas, their scuba diving is incredible!

If you are visiting Kuredu Island, Vakarufalhi Island or Komandoo Island then you might want to consider Prodivers dive school. They have been diving in the Maldives since 1988 and are one of the largest diving companies in the Maldives.

With a large friendly team made up of instructors, snorkel guides and office staff they cater for every diving activity.

With marine life including grey reef sharks, turtles, manta rays, trigger fish and many more it is a once in a lifetime opportunity!

If you have never dived before they will ensure you are fully briefed before entering the water. They will then ensure you feel comfortable, only diving to a maximum of 2 meters. They ensure groups are small with 6 students per instructor.

There is also a range of courses available depending on the experience you want. If you would like to experience more but don’t want to do the full course there is a program called the Discover Scuba diving. Here you will be taken to the lagoon to learn some basic diving skills. Once you have completed this, the following dives will take you to Kuredu House Reef and then the local dive site on your third dive.

There is also a range of speciality scuba diving programs designed to raise awareness of different species including sharks and turtles. Learn about these incredible species and experience a once in a life time experience. There is also the opportunity to dive with a scooter and become an underwater photographer on the special causes.
