St Maarten, has a seductive European influenced personality. It has streets lined with fashionable boutiques and bustling cafes, beach bars which serve designer drinks and the conversation is a lilting patois. Part French, part Dutch, St Maarten is a home from home for the smart-set where exhuberant night spots, duty free shops, and exciting casinos combine to offer an upbeat, cosmopolitan holiday experience.
The quiet country roads and small hillside villages of St Maarten are the perfect antidote to the chic, modern day pleasures of the islands sea ports and towns.

Scenic views of neighbouring islands can be enjoyed from the observation platform at Cole Bay Hill. Stop here whilst enjoying the delights of the popular walking trail that leads to Cay Bay.
For even more stunning views and a taste of history, climb Mount Conordia which rises along the border in the centre of the island. It was here in 1648 that the treaty dividing St Maarten was signed.
Lazy days gazing out to sea can be spent on one of St Maartens 37 beautiful beaches. Busy bays are venues for watersports, swimming and snorkelling, while secluded coves offer private retreats.

Head for mile-long Mullet Bay Beach where the swimming conditions are perfect. Get up early and watch one of the incredible sunrises that Dawn Beach is famous for, or join the snorkellers at Little Bay Beach where the calm clear waters offer excellent underwater visibility.
If you fancy a stretch of sand all to yourself, try picturesque Simpson Bay Beach, a long half-moon of white sand with no watersports, no resorts, just the sound of water gently lapping at your feet.
