Known in Cambodia as the Wat Preah Keo, the extravagant Silver Pagoda can be found on the south side of the Royal Palace complex in Phnompenh. The pagoda gets its name since its floor is covered with five tons of silver.

The main building of Pagoda houses many national treasures of Cambodia; most are gold and jewelled Buddha statues.

Another spectacular statue is the 90 kg solid-gold Buddha decorated with more than 2000 diamonds, and the largest is a whopping 25 carats!

You’ll pass over the staircase made of Italian marble, you will be once again surprised with another Buddha ‘the Emerald Buddha’ which is said to be made of Baccarat crystal and adorned with 9584 diamonds, with a story behind it.

The Silver Pagoda is one of the most visited tourist locations in Cambodia. Its stunning beauty and eye catching exhibits make this destination a must stop for anyone touring the country.
