Grenada not only offers beautiful warm and clear waters for snorkelling, but a rather special spot in which to snorkel. Its Underwater Sculpture Park, recognised by National Geographic as one of the “Earth’s most awesome places”, is located within a Marine Protected Area. As artificial reefs, the sculptures are proving highly successful in attracting a stunning array of varied marine life, which in turn is attracting visitors. They have therefore fulfilled a role in easing the environmental pressure on other reefs in the locality. This is a two hour afternoon trip which starts from the dive shop on Grand Anse beach with a boat ride past Grenada’s capital, St.George’s, to the site of the Underwater Sculpture Park in Molinere Bay. Any newcomers to snorkelling will receive some basic instruction to get up and running in no time. The boat will be moored at the site for around one hour whilst you are guided in the water by a professional guide. All equipment is provided, as well as light refreshments on board the boat.
