For golfers, there are plenty of courses to choose from, with most located at the upmarket hotels. While some are only open to hotel residents, the following are also open to non-residents on payment of a green fee. Expect to pay around Rs4,000–6,000 for 18 holes at the top courses; children pay approximately half price. Clubs, trolleys and other equipment can usually be hired. The price of club hire varies enormously, but expect to pay Rs500–1,600 for a full set, and around Rs275 for a trolley. A golf cart will cost around Rs1,750 for 18 holes, a caddy around Rs350. Lessons with a golf pro will cost in the region of Rs3,000 per hour. It is advisable, and often a requirement, to book tee-off times.
