Las Leñas

A ski resort with dramatic peaks and big mountains, it’s no wonder Las Leñas attracts pro skiers from around the world. There are also facilities available for beginners and intermediates too if steep drops are not for you.

The piste statistics for the resort are green runs (15%), blue (45%), red (35%) and black (5%) which makes the resort ideal for intermediate skiers. The resort gets around 6 metres of snow which isn’t a great deal but the quality of the snow is excellent which is part of the main draw for skiers to Las Leñas.

Cerro Bayo

For a boutique ski experience try Cerro Bayo located in the Argentine Lake District. Take in the breathtaking views of the Andes and the pristine lake Lago Nahuel Huapi. Cerro Bayo also offers some wide spaced tree skiing and open Alpine bowls for something different.

Los Penitentes

Los Penitentes is a popular ski area. With national and international competitions often being held in this location, you can expect good quality facilities. This centre has a mixture of beginner, intermediate and advanced slopes to cater for all abilities. Hotels, shopping centres and restaurants can be found nearby.

Caviahue

Located at the bottom of the active Copahue Volcano, due to the geothermal activity this ski resort also contains hot springs which are perfect to take a dip in after a hard days skiing.

The resort is better suited to intermediate riders and beginners but for experienced riders, Caviahue provides some good off-piste skiing and backcountry touring.

Cerro Castor

One of the most exclusive ski resorts in Argentina, the resort is situated in Ushuaia one of the most southerly places in the world. The temperatures are a lot lower than other resorts and with great snow quality it has become one of the most popular ski resorts in Argentina.

Activities include cross country skiing, alpine skiing, snowboarding, sledging, and snow shoe trekking.
