Temperature & What to Pack

Rainfall is much more likely at 13 days out of the month with 40mm anticipated in Adelaide and over 80mm expected in Sydney. When travelling within southern Australia in October, we would recommend jeans, t-shirts and a light jacket.

Within the Red Centre, the desert atmospheres bring a toasty average temperature of 30C in the daytime, dropping to around 15C of an evening. Sunshine hours are optimal at 11 hours a day with just 6 days or 20mm of rainfall predicted. Summer clothes are advised but we would suggest bringing a light jumper or a thick shawl for when the sun sets.
