The Ghan – 3-Day (2-Night) Itinerary

Board The Ghan in Adelaide and settle into your luxury cabin before departing towards the rustic Australian outback. After a night of dining and indulging in your included fine wines and beverages, awake to glowing red landscapes as the train closes into Alice Springs, home of the famous Uluru formation. Your day is filled with an inspiring range of included excursions to make the most of your trip to this iconic region. After a day of explorations, board the train once again as you head towards Katherine, where the opportunity to partake in a relaxing cruise through the red sandstone landscape or to visit to a working cattle station await. As the day draws to a close, The Ghan arrives in Darwin where you will depart and begin the next phase of your journey, be it back to the UK or towards your next destination…

The Ghan Expedition – 4-Day (3-Night) Itinerary

Starting from £1,699 per person

Board The Ghan in the northern city of Darwin and enjoy a generous lunch as you close into Katherine, where the option to cruise through Nitmiluk Gorge, surrounded by red sandstone cliffs or to visit a working cattle station are open to you. After your adventures, board the train once again and await the vibrant red landscapes of Alice Springs. Upon arrival, you are able to upgrade to a scenic flight of the famous Uluru formation with base tour or to partake in a fantastic range of included excursions. As the day draws to a close, there will be no opportunity to reflect on photographs as you arrive at the historic Alice Springs Telegraph Station for a barbeque under the stars! After a night onboard, The Ghan will pull into Coober Pedy, a unique opal mining town where the residents have settled under the Earth’s surface in a sophisticated structure of caves. On this day, you will have a gourmet lunch in an underground restaurant, perfect for photos. Later in the afternoon, board the train for your final night and indulge in a fabulous dinner with included beverages. The following morning will bring a change of scenery as red desert landscapes transform into vibrant rolling hills, filled with greenery. Relax and enjoy brunch as the train passes through Flinders Rangers before arriving at your final destination of Adelaide where you will continue on your own journeys.
