Hanoi Old Quarter has an exceptional atmosphere that make many want like to hang around the all day.

Also known as the ‘36 streets’, where dozens of narrow lanes weave, maze-like through an ancient segment of Hanoi and where families have sold their art and crafts for generations.

The Old Quarter marked its appearance in the 11th century, when King Ly Thai decided to build his palace. That means in 2010, Hanoi turned 1000 years old. Originally a group of workshop villages surrounding the royal palace, the Old Quarter has gradually transformed into craft cooperatives, or guilds and soon gained its reputation as the business trading areas of the Red River delta.

Visitors can also visit the night market taking place in, Hang Dao, Hang Ngang, Hang Duong, Dong Xuan. This happens from Friday to Sunday with many variety of products to buy, making it a shoppers paradise.
