Days 1 – 3: Buenos Aires
Fly overnight from the UK to Buenos Aires where you will spend 2 nights in the home of tango, at a centrally located hotel. Enjoy a fascinating half day city tour on your first morning and learn about the fascinating history of Argentina. With the rest of your time in the city you could discover one of the cities many art galleries or museums.

Day 4: Ushuaia
Today you will fly to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world and departure point for your Antarctic cruise. After checking into your hotel you can enjoy the evening at leisure.

Day 5 - 7: Depart Ushuaia, Drake Passage
On day 5 you will have the morning free to do any last minute shopping or perhaps take an optional excursion to the Tierra Del Fuego National Park. In the late afternoon you will board the ship and depart Ushuaia. After heading out of the famous Beagle Channel the ship will spend the next 2 days making its way over the infamous Drakes Passage towards the Antarctic Peninsula.

Day 8 - 11: Antarctic Peninsula
This is the day you get a chance to step foot on the Great White Continent! Over the next 4 days you will be navigating southwards making stops in the South Shetland Islands then through the Bransfield Strait and to the Antarctic Peninsula. Most operators attempt 2 excursions per day, while they navigate through the area. But your itinerary and daily schedule will be based on the local weather and ice conditions that you encounter.

The Antarctic Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands abound with wildlife activity. Penguins gather with their fast-growing chicks, whales are seen in great numbers, seals haul out onto ice floes and beaches, and numerous albatross and other seabirds trail in our wake. There is plenty of time to enjoy the sheer beauty and the breathtaking scenery of ice-choked waterways, blue and white icebergs, impressive glaciers and rugged snow-capped mountains.

The Peninsula also has a remarkable history and, during the voyage, we will learn about some of the most important and dramatic expeditions to this remote corner of the world.

Day 12 - 13: Drake Passage
You will leave Antarctica and head north across the Drake Passage. In between bird and whale watching you can enjoy some final lectures by the on board expedition staff. It’s a great chance to relax and review the adventures of the past week before returning to Ushuaia.

Day 14: Ushuaia – Buenos Aires
Arrive back in Ushuaia and disembark the ship. Head to the airport for your flight back to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival in Buenos Aires you will transfer to your hotel for a final night in the capital of Argentina. A chance to enjoy a nice meal or perhaps see a tango show.
