Velassaru, is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and quite rightly too. It is a small boutique resort in a stunning location.
The island is conveniently located on the northern tip of the South Male Atoll about 30 minutes by boat from Male International Airport.
There are 4 types of accomodation to choose from:-
Deluxe Bungalows:- Located in individual single-storey buildings, close to the water's edge with sitting area, garden bathroom with bath and indoor shower.
Beach Villas:- These are beautiful thatched cottages which face the beachand sea. Creature comforts include an espresso machine and an open-air bathroom with bath and shower.
Water Bungalow:- These bungalows are over the water on stilts. They are spacious with the facilities of other rooms plus a sitting area, canopy bed, indoor shower, bath overlooking the sea, wine chiller and large balcony.
Water Villa Overwater, These have the facilities above but with a larger balcony and some with their own pool. True luxury!
