Gaya Island Resort is an idyllic retreat fringed by a sandy beach, mangrove trees and coral reefs within the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, a natural marine conservation area. Nestled within the hillside and surrounded by a tropical rainforest, this tranquil resort looks out over the South China Sea with the silhouette of Mount Kinabalu in the distance.

The resort has 120 hillside villas and a two-bedroom suite which are designed to merge seamlessly with the local architecture and natural environment.

Enjoy culinary treats from the Asia-Pacific region at the Feast Village, Japanese delicacies at Omakase restaurant or fresh seafood dishes at Fisherman's Cove. The Pool Bar & Lounge offers midday refreshments and cocktails at sundown while five minutes away, Tavajun Bay, the resort's private beach, serves a single dish meal made over charcoal embers which changes daily for lunch.

The resort has its own marine and wildlife centres where you can learn from their resident marine biologist and naturalist about the vital work being done to preserve the natural environment as well as their rescue, rehabilitation and breeding programmes for endangered species.

Above the mangroves within the forest lies the world class Spa Village, where one can be pampered with unique treatments inspired by the cultural healing traditions of Sabah's many indigenous people.

Discoveries, authentic experiences and a sense of intimacy with the natural world prevail across the land and seascape of this resort offering travellers an escape that is distinctively Borneo.

Please note: A compulsory conservation fee of MYR35 (approx. GBP6.30) on the first night of stay and an additional MYR25 (approx. GBP4.50) for each night thereof is applied to each guest, including children, as mandated by Sabah Parks as a conservation fee.
