"Beautiful, very poor, lovely people"
"Stonetown is very Interesting and Zanzibar is stunningly beautiful."
"Really lovely friendly people. Typical African country with the general poverty"
"the country is very poor, left without luggage for 3 days going ( and one day coming back) we found it very difficult to get any sort of assistance, the 'rep' avoided us as soon as he knew we had a problem and did not turn up for the meeting time."
"Amazing country with amazing people. "
"Didn't see much of the country - resort was self-contained and there was no need to venture afield."
"great place to visit"
"Resort was fantastic as was Stone Town. Felt safe at all times."
"sad to see so many children with no shoes on at the side of the road"
"Surprised to see the extent of the security between the resort and the locals. Very friendly people. "
"Beautiful country but huge gap between rich and poor."
"nice but boring"
"Brilliant location, hotel and country and people"
"stunning island - fell in love with it. "
"Very different and extremely interesting place to visit"
"Good we went on Stone Town trip and Spice trail "
"this was the FLY season"
"Zanzibar was amazing, very friendly people, perfect place to relax but plenty to do as well"
"Madeira tours reps were very smiley and helpful, but helpful people in general were harder to find than in Kenya. "
"Kenya & Zanzibar were great, people very friendly. "
"The holiday was amazing!"
"Elsa's Kopje in Kenya was breathtaking. A truely fabulous destination.
Funduu Lagoon on Pemba was also lovely, with excellent food and service. Shame the weather was not that great!"
"North part of island has beautiful beaches and good resorts. Island is in state of development when it comes to tourism and activities. Nice for maxiumum 7 days."
"Excellent all round holiday, Zanzibar is the best place I have visited. Not to be missed"
"We loved Kenya and the Mara, and found Zanzibar fascinating and friendly. Kenya's immigration is a nightmare though."
"Very poor - not a lot to see. Went on one trip (Blue Safari) which took us by boat to a sand bank to snorkel and then onto another island for lunch. Not given sufficient info from Kuoni rep named Ali. Did not takke towels so unable to swim, albeit plenty of jelly fish about. Also, had to wade to boat three times so should have taken suitable footwear if we had been informed!!"
"The ground handler, Abdul, was absolutely amazing. Nick needed an operation on his back whilst he was there so Dena rang Abdul to ask for his help. He got them into the military hospital and stayed during the operation so had no chance to break his fast during Ramadan. He cancelled all the excursions that were booked that they could no longer particpate in and gave them a full refund whilst arranging gentler more suitable ones for them. He took them to a shop to obtain medical supplies and made sure they got them at a really good price and would not take a penny for these services. He called daily to check they were alright and Dena wants to write to Somak to commend him."
"Just perfect for switching off and doing nothing...."
"The sea at the resort inshore of the coral reef was only knee deep and so snorkelling wasn't possible. This was not explained in the resort brochures and was a disappointment as that was one reason we wanted to go there. The hotel was very good though."
"What a lovely resort and country. Still true to its traditions and culture. 5* resort with warm and friendly staff. Jambo Jambo!"
