“With the exception of 3-night stop over in Dubai, a further 2-nights in Perth, WA, then 3-nights on the Indian Pacific Railway, to Sydney, my first experience of "normal" Australian hospitality was 3-nights in the Oaks Sydney Goldsborough Hotel. The remainder of my 7-week Australian stay was with friends in Canberra. Friends aside, I found Australians in general to be cheerful and curious particularly when they realise you are from abroad. Become involved in a conversation about sport, particularly Cricket or Rugby and you will never get away !! Overall, the most amazing thing I found difficult to fully understand is the SIZE of the place. Taking all the "differences" into consideration - What a Great Place to Visit !!”

“We stayed one night in ayres rock and then went to Kings Canyon. It was a waste of time. Only one canyon to see. Not worth the 3.5 hour coach trip from Ayres rock. The 7.5 hour drive to Alice Springs. Very long and expected to see some wildlife but had at that point only seen animals in the zoo.”

“We travelled to Bali , Perth , Sydney and Abu Dhabi. Bali was a stop off to relax but we did do a couple of trips to the Git Git Waterfall and the Royal temple which I recommend but get a private taxi driver as this only cost £40 for the whole day so we were not scheduled by tours . Our driver took us to various other places of interest like wood carvers , to see wild Monkeys Ubud the art /craft village etc shopsirver . The staff at the hotel really could not do anymore and would highly recommend it and Azul the Beach Club attached. There id lots of restaurants within easy walking distance and very cheap to eat out. Perth we stayed with Family but saw lots of different things beautiful beaches , great Bars and restaurants and would highly recommend a visit to the Yanchip National Park to see wild Kangeroos and Koalas , this only cost 13 A.Dollars for a car not per person. Would also recommend the river cruise from Perth to Freemantle lovely views takes about 45 mins but well worth it and Freemantle was a very nice town to visit as well with lots of bars and restaurants along the coast. Sydney - The holiday Inn in Darling Harbour was a perfect location for tourists five mins walk Darling Harbour and central bus station. We walked to Circular Quey where Sydney Bridge is took about 30mins but pleasant walk. I would highly recommend the Coogie coastal walk to Bondi Beach stunning views about 3.5km long but plenty of places to stop and eat/drink. We caiught a bus from DH to Coogie then a bus from Bindi Beach back to Circular Quey where we also did the Botanical Gardens another must do thing in Sydney. I would also recommend the Sydney Bridge climb Cost £350 per couple takes 3-4 hrs but well worth it , no good if you don't like heights was a little scary. Another must is the ferry from the harbors to Manly Beach . Abu Dhabi was a relax stop so stayed mainly on Yas Island but we did go to Yas Mall which is bigger & better than any UK shopping centre with lots of restaurants and designer shops and also Ferrai World. There is a free shuttle to everywhere on Yaz Island too . Would also recommend doing the free Grand Prix track cycle ride on a Tuesday or Sunday evening 6-10pm great fun.. We did take a visit to the Grand Mosque which was about a 15-20min taxi ride £8-10 pound each way but well worth it such a stunning building regardless of your religion and its free. The only negitive we had was about theYas Beach (Manmade) nothing like beaches in Dubai which is what we expected but this did not ruin our vacation we just stayed by the pools. Yas Waterlorld is also on the Island but we did not visit this. The hotel also offered us an upgrade to a Suite for £50 extra a night , this was huge in size with lots of mod cons in living room and bedrooms well worth it and was the icing on the cake for our trip ”

“Sydney is just another country, and I wouldn't return. Ayres Rock & Port Douglas were wonderful, and if the distance wasn't so far, I would return again. Australia is very expensive though, so not suitable for people on a very strict budget, unless they are prepared to miss magical memories.”

“When were left with paper tickets for the whole of our trip which prevented us form doing any online checking in, which obviously slowed down our checing in process and caused us a number of difficulties! When we left Australia we tranferred for 4 days to Bali. The experience here was not as it should have been as when we arrived the hotel had given our room away leaving us with a twin room on our honeymoon for the first night. We then had to argue with staff to get the honeymoon package we had asked for and despite calls to Holidays Please we were not given any assistance and ended up resolving the problems ourselves!!! The destinations were amazing and the hotels were brilliant! We just needed a bit more support from the staff at Holidays Please!”
