"A really worthwhile destination for anyone interested in geography. It's like driving through a textbook on glaciers and volcanos!
and the roads practicallyempty, except in Reykjavik
Very expensive to eat and drink, though. Forget about having wine in restaurants. Take duty free and drink it in your room before the meal!"
"worth the trip"
"Stunning scenery and a great place to stay"
"Absolutely stunning. Loved every minute. "
"Absolutely beautiful! So much to see and do. The people were so helpful and friendly and seemed to really appreciate people coming to their country to see what it had to offer. They were extremely proud of showing you all of the wonderful sights. "

"Very beautiful and well worth visiting. Very very expensive though. "
"great place, have to go back"
"very industrial looking (like one massive english industrial estate) and expensive"
"Amazing county, beautiful scenery, friendly people with fascinating natural extremes"
"Absolutely loved it. Would most certainly go back!"
"Tourism is booming, everything is incredibly well organised and communicated at every level. Gray Line Tour providers were excellent both with knowledge and organisation at every stage."
"It was wonderful, a natural beauty."
"Very interesting - dramatic and desolate. It was hard to get an idea of what life is like for real Icelanders - it felt like everything was set up for tourists to see the natural sights but we hardly met any real Icelanders. "
"Beautiful country and beautiful sites"
"Great country, much bigger than you ever imagined - a lott o see and would go back and hire a car to see the Glaciers and north of the island!"
"Well worth a visit. Especially to see the Northern Lights and the geothermal activity. Very interesting what nature provides."
"In January it is quite bleak! I would like to go back in the summer"
"Awesome - a totally different holiday experience for us."
"Dramatic, caustic landscape where the earth is very much alive: the volcanoes, geysers and glacier lagoons were my favourite,"
"Fantastic place, some of the best scenery in the world and the locals are very friendly and helpful."
"Found it a very expensive place. Enjoyed the whale watching trip and the Northern lights experience. "
"it was beautiful, really peaceful, amazing scenery, countryside. The mountains, the landscapes, the really cuddly sheep. Walking on the glacier was spectacular. we didnt see the northern lights or whales. It's best to book Northern Lights at the beginning of the stay because sightings are dependent on weather so if weather is bad they can just book on the next day and so on till they get a spot. We changed our booking to go on earlier dates and then finally got a clear day but still saw nothing that day which was a shame.
The nice thing about Iceland is the people are so friendly and laid back, very helpful and friendly. It's easy to book, reschedule tours, you can literally do it in the morning as long as you call before the bus comes to pick up the people from your hotel. Its really great.
Our glacier walk got cancelled because of gale force winds and we just called and arranged another tour that morning, we went horse riding which was brilliant.
"Very "neat and tidy" country but a bit expensive over there. With the problems with finance in Iceland recently should be a lot cheaper now"
